When used as an Italian idiom, per caso implies a wonderful process by which stuff comes together to create an opportunity that is seemingly by chance.

There are many other words… luck [when preparation meets opportunity]; courage [putting what’s important to you above your fear]; karma, destiny, fate….

I like these concepts because they encourage us to increase our awareness and live in the moment.

on a label of your own choosing
with authentic reflection of character;
or to suffer the shame and heartache of soul’s sacrifice
for the greater good of search engine optimization;
to attract the like-minded devout
and fully enjoy the arrows of annoyance
shot by others of different persuasions
who venture into your realm.
Ay, there’s the rub.

I could write many posts on my varied considerations on the labeling of all things… from the needs of parents to compartmentalize their kids’ futures to the judgmental infliction of comments/thoughts that start with “Wow, you don’t look like a _______.” Smoker, mom, hippie, rich person, geek, sick person, happy person, axe-murder… you get the point.

Obviously, there are stereotypes for a reason… named groups to which enough items are assigned to make them typical. Which brings us to the ever popular idiom - truth in jest… a great way to acknowledge a jab with “Hey! Wait a minute, I know you’re slamming me, but it’s okay cause it’s funny(?)”

But I digress… that’s the fun part of random writing, stream of thought… I started this post thinking about how I categorize my writing here in this blog. Being new at it, I thought I should be logical and all keywordish with boring labels so search engines could find me. Then I starting reading other people’s blogs and saw their fun category names… I long for fun category names… like gratuitous propaganda, and who cares, and I’m feeling lucky.

These groupie names require adventure and anticipation on the part of the reader. One person’s stupid news is another person’s dogma… but I guess that doesn’t matter since it’s all about what I want to call them… hee, hee.

Hmmm… here’s a thought… in our supposedly out of control lives, blogging allows us to retain some control of our thoughts and reaffirm that we have a voice… but apparently it’s important that we share (with strangers who don’t care about our control issues) or it would just be journalling.

“Oh, that whacky Marge… she eats like that every day… it’s the only way she can retain any semblance of control in her crazy life!” Ay, but there’s the rub… do we lose control when we become obsessive or is it the nirvana of ownership?

Blogging is healthier and shares our spirits globally… the essence of evolution.
